DEFINITION OF TRAFFICKING

The global or international definition of Human trafficking is found in the "U.N Protocol to Prevent, Supress and Punish Trafficking in Persons, especially women and children", also known as the "Palermo Protocol". Please note however that African countries who have existing legislation on Trafficking, tend to modify their definitions to include issues such as "human/child sacrifice" , which is not covered in the Protocol.
